What we do
Uttar Pradesh Voluntary Health Association (UPVHA) is a state level network of credible Voluntary organizations working in the field of community health and development across the state to fulfil the goal of MDG & NHM. It is affiliate to Voluntary Health Association of India New Delhi. It was established as a non-profit secular organisation registered under society registration act 1860 in November 1985.UPVHA advocates people centered policies for dynamic health planning and program management in Uttar Pradesh. We initiate and support innovative health and development program at the community level with the active support & participation of the Organisations working at grassroot level. UPVHA tries to build up a strong community health movement in Uttar Pradesh for a cost effective, Preventive, Promotive and rehabilitative health care system. We work towards a responsive public health sector and responsible private sector with accountability and quality service.
UPVHA focuses on integrated interventions to address Maternal and Child Health, Neonatal Health, Nutrition and ARSH, Tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, Women Empowerment, Panchayat Empowerment, Environmental Health & Sanitation, Diarrhoea management, Legal Aspects of Health, and AYUSH employing a unique approach to train local organizations & Counterpart to ensure that programs are locally appropriated and sustainable. Our programs are designed to involve the most vulnerable and marginiliase population of the regions of program implementation, including women, Dalit /Oppressed, Tribal, Poor and Deprived, Slum Dwellers, Victims of Displacement, Difficult Areas like Bundelkhand, Migrants etc.
As per the aims and objectives of UPVHA, the basic of health, such as adequate food, balanced diet, and clean drinking water, clean and ventilated housing, environmental health and school health, Social justice, particularly in the provision and distribution of health services. Encourage collaboration and working with the government in the promotion and protection of health care at all levels, particularly at the primary care level.
